Looking Forward…

I am attending the Spring Fling writer’s conference in Chicago at the end of the month. I am planning on pitching Black Creek with Eagle’s Flight ready if the opportunity arises.

Black Creek is due back this week from a second editor. I’ve finished its synopsis…for the 14th time. Ugh! My first novel is 95,000 words. Writing a 600 word synopsis is like cramming 40 college students into a Volkswagon bug. After making revisions on it, I have 13 publishers to solicit and, then, the waiting begins. But not for long. If the publishers don’t work out, I will indie publish this year. It’s a good problem. 🙂

Eagle’s Flight has, also, been returned from the eagle eye (pun intended) of editor H. Danielle Crabtree. I plan on starting the query process with it this summer once I’ve gotten the ball rolling on Black Creek.

Many scenerios could change any and all of this, but it feels great to have a plan and to be moving forward.

My list of amazing readers continues to grow. You are what keep me going. Thank you!

  1. Have a great time at Spring Fling. I’ve gone to it at least three times and I think it’s one of the best regional conferences around. Great people, great workshops. You’re going to have a great time. And good luck on the pitch!

Laurie: I’m looking forward to it, thank you!

  3. I wish I had the money to attend….someday I will. Good luck in all you do. I can’t stand the query part either…it’s like we’re dressing our books up to be chosen like a pimp would a prostitute haha!

    You’ll do great!

I have been very disappointed in the quality of books available at the local bookstore. Your incredible writing has spoiled me. I can’t wait to purchase my own copies and am anxiously awaiting book 3.

Dian: You’re so kind. Thank you. I’m working, I’m working. 🙂
Eryn: Spring Fling was awesome. Thank you for the well wishes. Five submission requests. I just sent the last one off. I’d better get to my yard before I have to use a machete to get out.
