Snow resting on scattered rocks sprinkled throughout a black creek? Crocus’ bullying winter as they push their green through the white? The ‘roll down the windows and blast the playlist’ feeling that comes with the first seventy degree day of spring? Or the humid heat that lays thick on the shoulders of a woman as she watches the murder of her parents?
Welcome to the changing seasons of upstate New York in the romantic suspense, Black Creek Burning. I am visual and rely heavily on the picture an author creates. I believe readers should forget where they’re at when they read. Come…leave your computer and visit the lovely, heartwarming, tension building world of Black Creek Burning.
Brianna Chapman is the only witness to the murder of her parents…an arson that was meant for her. After several years, Brianna learns to cope by burying herself in her beloved teaching job by day and landscaping business by night. What she doesn’t count on is nationally renowned woodworking artist, Nathan Reed. He and his two adorable young nephews move into the run-down historical farmhouse behind her. Nathan pushes his way through Brianna’s hard shell and is determined to both win her heart and solve the murder.
The story takes place in the middle of scenic upstate New York near Seneca Lake in the fictitious small town of Northridge. Come join Nathan as he, “patiently transforms Brianna from an icy self-proclaimed independent into a woman willing to accept the love of a strong man and a family in need of a mother…” as said by EPIC Award Winning Author, Laurie Larsen. You’ll travel through three seasons with both the physical and metaphorical changes that occur in each. Enjoy a saucy stop in an Oregon tree house hotel and a sentimental trip to Niagara Falls.

You are an expert at drawing readers in to the worlds you create, R.T. I could see and smell Black Creek and wanted to move right in beside Brianna and Nathan!
Can’t wait to read your next Black Creek story!
You did a great job, especially with the first couple of paragraphs of description, beautiful and fresh! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you’ve become an outstanding author, and you were great to start with!
Just with those couple of paragraphs you had me pulled in , I definitely am going to check out Black Creek Burning.

I too am a visual person. I like to see either in print or in my mind’s eye what the results should be. An author who is able to suspend my reality and transport me to the scence as they saw it, IMO are constantly working to perfect their writing skill. I prize reading those authors the most.
I love the book blurb. Sounds like an interesting read. The pics are beautiful!
Thanks for the opportunity to share.

I love these blog hops because I find so many great authors! And, I love that I hopped onto this blog because I enjoy reading stories set in upstate NY (I live north and east of the Finger Lakes region. I think. I am really bad at directions. Kinda near Syracuse! LOL) Good luck with your continued writing and thanks for the opportunity!
What fun. Hope you found lots of new readers. Can’t wait to read your book now that it’s on B&N.
