Book 3 in the Black Creek Series, Dark Vengeance, is in its last of round of edits. The photo shoot for the cover and book trailer was last weekend. It was amazing. So far, my editors have said Dark Vengeance is the best of the series. Go figure. I’m writing this post because I promised to have this book out by April and it looks like it will be May. I’m so sorry. I know you would want a quality book rather than a fast one. The hits on the Dark Vengeance drop down tab are going crazy and I’ve signed up many new subscribers to my email. I am hugely appreciative of your support. Becoming a BestSeller was completely unexpected. You’re interest is truly what keeps me going.
I spent over three years of my life getting to know the characters in the Black Creek Series. When I sent the final manuscript to that first editor, I felt a bit lost. I’m not ready to let go of these characters. I have outlined at least five books featuring Nickie Savage, the main character in Dark Vengeance. Just last week I finished a novella linking the two series together. The Nickie Savage Series will be heavier on the mystery and suspense than on the romance of the Black Creek Series but will carry the heavy passion between Duncan and Nickie. They have much to unravel, discover and fight for. I can’t wait to dive into it!
I have also been outlining a Sea Scape Series. This is so dang fun. Can I just move to Alaska and write on a mountain for six months straight? There are so many books buzzing holes in my head, dying to get out. Oh right. I have a job and need to pay my bills. Boo. You can catch a glimpse of all of my books … published, soon to be published and works in progress. They each have their own drop down tab under the Books link on my Home page. Better yet, sign up for my monthly newsletter and I will email you any news or progress. The link is on the right hand side of my Home page.
Please keep writing reviews and telling your friends about the Black Creek Series. Who knows? Maybe someday soon I can pay my bills from my book sales and get the Nickie Savage and Sea Scape books out all the faster. Enjoy your Spring!
It’s so hard to say goodbye to characters when you finish a story. Must be even harder at the end of a series. All the best!
Jessica,
I think I’ll go with it until the end. Although, I thought I saw the end already. 🙂

I can’t imagine giving up characters after writing them for so long. I’m writing book 3 in my series right now, and still see future stories. At some point, though, I know it will end. I just don’t want to think about it. Still, congrats on the milestone and much luck with the release, the entire series and your future success!
Terri,
Thank you! This is like crack cocaine.

I know what you mean about letting characters go. I’m finishing my Switched series right now and while it’s hard letting the characters go, it’s time. As you say, too many stories/characters boring holes in my head. Time to move on. As always, wishing you the best.
Diane,
Best wishes with the new works in progress. You deserve it!

Great to hear about all you have in the works. I agree, six months of seclusion would be SO helpful. I have a few series going and haven’t had to say goodbye yet, but I can see that it will be difficult when the time comes. I am thrilled for all your success. Keep it up!
Alicia,
Thank you for the kind words and for stopping by!
